LAURA A JEJÍ TYGŘI & ILONA CSÁKOVÁ

The legendary band LAURA A JEJÍ TYGŘI will perform at two special concerts on November 12 and 13 at Dům Radost in Prague. In the unique functionalist space of the Přítomnost Boutique Cinema, they will present their special program In!entura and launch their new album MOST! The concert will also kick off a series of performances celebrating the band's 40th anniversary. Ilona Csáková will be the lead singer and special guest, and founding band member Bohumil Vitásek will also join in.

The band's 14th studio album thematically returns to its very beginnings – band leader and sole author of the music and lyrics, Karel Šůcha, reminisces about his hometown of Most, where he spent his youth and founded the band Laura a její tygři.
"I only go to Most to remember my loved ones. During one of my visits in November, I went with my family to see Lake Most. The view of the calm surface triggered memories of the destroyed city in me, and the first hints of future lyrics began to appear in my head," says Karel Šůcha, describing the beginnings of work on the new album.

He also invited former band members Ilona Csáková and Bohumil Vitásek to collaborate.
"The lyrics of the new songs are very personal; memories of the lost city still evoke strong feelings in me. While composing the songs, I became increasingly aware that they should be sung by someone with a similar experience. Ilona and Bohouš, who came from the same background, were the obvious choice. I sent them demo recordings, and after listening to them, Ilona wrote to me: I saw myself in Neprakťák again. A time machine. So many emotions in the morning, I think you've done it. The song Jezero Most is perfect," adds Karel Šůcha.

At two concerts, audiences will have the opportunity to hear both new songs and the band's greatest hits. Ilona Csáková will lead the tiger pack, and the band will perform their traditional energy-charged, thrilling show.

The album Most! will be released online on all major streaming platforms. Next year, at a concert that will conclude the 40th anniversary celebrations, the band will release a double vinyl album, In!Ventura, which will include a selection of newly recorded songs that have not yet been released on vinyl, along with the album Most!

Laura and Her Tigers

At the end of 1985, inspired by William Saroyan's cult novella Tracy's Tiger, Karel Šůcha founded the rock band Laura and Her Tigers at the Neprakta Club in Most. The girl's name Laura evokes tenderness and beauty, while tigers are a symbol of untamability and wildness. Black glasses, white shirts, black ties, and black pants create the band's unmistakable image.

This eight-member band, renowned for its fusion of black-and-white elegance and raw energy, has currently played more than 2,500 concerts in rock clubs and at festivals at home and abroad. Among other things, they have released 13 albums and completed 5 major concert projects: Tomáš Tracy's Show, Ritual of a Central European from the End of the 20th Century in Agen, France, Ritual in Žižkov, Laura versus Křižík's Fountain, and Big Bang!

The phenomenal debut of Laura and her Tigers forty years ago heralded the band's busy concert history. Hundreds of concerts in sold-out halls in the Czech Republic and Slovakia caught the attention of international promoters, and after the fall of the Iron Curtain, the Tigers completely disappeared from the domestic scene and performed mainly on European stages such as Stuttgart, Munich, Paris, Lausanne, Kiel, Bremen, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main, Marseille, Valence, Toulouse, Nantes, Albi, Tarbes, Brussels, Lyon, Dijon, Antwerp, and Strasbourg. In the past, they also performed in the ancient amphitheaters of Carthage, Monastir, and Hammamet, as well as at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. In 1993, the band won the French media award Grand Prix Media RFI, and their concert at La Cigalle in Paris was broadcast live on the MCM channel.

The tireless talent scout Karel Šůcha nurtured a number of important figures in Czech cultural life in Laura and Her Tigers, including Ilona Csáková, Lenka Nová, Dan Nekonečný, Martin Pošta, and Miloš Vacík.
