IAN PAICE

IAN PAICE FROM DEEP PURPLE WILL PERFORM WITH THE OUTSTANDING BAND PURPENDICULAR ON A CZECHOSLOVAK TOUR.

Iconic drummer Ian Paice, founder and member of the all-star Deep Purple, will perform alongside other outstanding musicians in the band Purpendicular on a Czech-Slovak tour.

Ian Paice is a great drum legend, founder, continuous member of Deep Purple and co-writer of their greatest hits. He remains the only member of Deep Purple to have been in every line-up since their formation in 1968 and has played on every album and every live performance. In 2016, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple.

Purpendicular, founded in 2007 by Irish frontman Robby Thomas Walsh as a tribute to Deep Purple, boasts an impressive line-up including Nick Fyffe, former bassist for Jamiroquai, and Murray Gould, a seasoned guitarist who has performed alongside legends such as Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa and Elton John.

At the heart of the band's rhythm section is Ian Paice, who brings his unmistakable groove and energy to the group.

A commitment to musical excellence ensures that Deep Purple's legacy lives on - not as a tribute, but as a band that stands on its own creative foundations. The concert consists of past classics from Deep Purple and Whitesnake. Don't miss this show and hear the best of Deep Purple straight from the source - the co-founder and member of this legendary band.

Purpendicular are:
  • Ian Paice - drums (UK)
  • Robby Thomas Walsh - vocals (IRL)
  • Murray Gould - guitars (UK)
  • Nick Fyffe - bass (UK)
  • Alessandro Debiaggi - keyboards (ITA)

Deep Purple's music itself is characterized by a balance of brilliant musicianship and monumental simplicity. Paice himself has performed alongside Deep Purple with Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Paul McCartney, The Spencer Davis Group, The Velvet Underground and The Maze, to name a few.

Deep Purple has been hailed as one of the most innovative and successful rock bands of all time since the 1970s, and Ian Paice's drumming has played a large part in that and continues to play a major role.

Deep Purple broke up for eight years, from 1976 to 1984, during which time Paice was a member of two bands that also featured other Deep Purple members: Paice Ashton Lord (which also featured Jon Lord) from 1976–1978 and Whitesnake (which also featured Jon Lord and David Coverdale) from 1979–1982. He was then Gary Moore's drummer from 1982 until Deep Purple's rebirth in 1984. He has also played drums as a touring and/or studio musician for other artists, including the Velvet Underground, George Harrison and Paul McCartney.
